It's a bigger charging handle, no more no less. I'd say it's not a necessary addition unless you're having problems clearing an optics mount or other accessory, but if you are it's perfect for that.

Great addition for the RFB. I put it on so I could charge the weapon without sliding and cutting my hand along the scope mount.

This is a great add on if your using any type of optics allows your finger to clear bolts / tension arm of your optic mount.
